ONE WITH NATURE

My little man loves to be outside. It doesn't matter if it is hot out, cold out, raining, snowing, he will do anything to get himself outside. He bats his sweet little eyelashes at me, he says "mama, outside?" in his sweet little baby voice... and if those two things don't work, he reverts to angry baby mode and throws his little self on the ground screaming and kicking while screaming "Outside! OUTSIDE! OUTSIDE!!!"

When he does get out there to run free [well, sort of], he is the happiest little boy. Ever.

LOVE ♥

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.

DESTINED FOR IN STYLE MAGAZINE. OR NOT.

My girl has such a sense of style. She loves to dress herself each morning - stripes with polka dots, jeans with leg warmers, mismatched socks, my knee high black heeled boots, two different barrettes for her hair.... Her imagination when it comes to getting dressed in the morning is endless.

Most often I just go with the flow and let her show her individuality and where what she chooses. But sometimes, sometimes, she picks something so over the top, I have to intervene. And today was one of those days.

A shower cap, my polka dot bra - over the shirt of course, leg warmers, and of course my necklace and bracelet to top it all off just wasn't doin' it for me. I think you will agree with me when I say it wasn't the most appropriate outfit to be going out of the house in - no?
